Mount Falcon West Trailhead

Mount Falcon West Trailhead is in my top three photo spots in Colorado. When the idea of moving the Colorado first popped into my head, this is exactly where I pictured the future of my photo sessions. The park is large, with tons of trails to explore, amazing trees, and of course the incredible mountain views. The only downside to this location is that it is probably the most crowded. Tons of photographers and their clients end up here on weekends, and while we may have to wait a few minutes for the best spot, it is so worth it.

I have done sessions at Mount Falcon year-round and it never disappoints. Golden hour here is the BEST because the sun shines through the trees creating the most magical light. There is a $25 permit fee to have a session here that is paid to Jefferson County Open Space. This keeps the park well maintained and beautiful for all the people that visit each week! I also charge an additional travel fee for sessions to be held at Mount Falcon, but try to keep that as low as possible. Once you look through these photos, you will see how amazing Mount Falcon can be and that it's well worth it!
