I can't say enough good things about NCAR and how fun it is to take photos here. Incredible flatiron views, and the big open field in front of them allow us to get photos that seem straight off a postcard. No need to walk far to get to these spots either, lots of the best spots are a few steps away from the car.
There is a permit fee for shooting at NCAR, but it is well worth it.
